2014-2015

  • June 25, 2015: MSCHE reaffirmed accreditation and also requested a monitoring report, due April 1, 2017
  • May 8, 2015: the University submitted its response to MSCHE accepting the recommendations and had no objections to the Evaluation Team’s findings
  • April 23, 2015: the Evaluation Team submitted the team report which provided eight recommendations as well as suggestions to aid in the University’s “continued progress toward its strategic priorities”
  • March 22-25, 2015: Evaluation team conducts its visits to the University
  • MSCHE Evaluation team to conduct visits to selected campuses
    • January 19: Dickinson Law
    • January 20: College of Medicine, Altoona College, Mont Alto campus
    • January 21: Capital College
    • January 28: New Kensington campus
    • January 29: Berks College
    • January 30: Brandywine campus
    • February 19: Florence, Italy
  • January 13, 2015: Self-Study Report, Living the Land-Grant Mission in a Global Context, and document roadmap submitted
  • September 10-11, 2014: Preliminary visit by the self-study evaluation team chair
  • Fall 2014: Discussions, revisions, and finalization of the self-study report

2013-2014

  • April-June 2014: Discussions and vetting of the self-study across the University community
  • April 2014: Dr. William E. Kirwan, Chancellor of the University System of Maryland, named chair of the evaluation team
  • March 2014: President’s Council reviews the draft of the self-study
  • February 2014: Steering Committee meets to discuss final draft of the self-study
  • Fall 2013: Steering Committee meets three times to receive updates from the Subcommittees
  • June-December 2013: Subcommittees draft four sections of the self-study report

2012-2013

  • June 2013: Vice President Guerrero approves the self-study design
  • June 2013: Self-study design submitted to Middle States
  • April 2013: Middle States Vice President Tito Guerrero visits University Park to discuss the proposed self-study design with the Steering Committee, Drs. Bowen and Dooris, and other administrators
  • March 2013: Drs. Bowen and Dooris meet with the Subcommittee chairs to outline and discuss their roles and responsibilities, the review process, and the timeline
  • March 2013: President Erickson and Interim Provost Pangborn appoint the four Subcommittees
  • March 2013: Interim Provost Pangborn charges the Steering Committee
  • February 2013: President Erickson and Interim Provost Pangborn appoint the Steering Committee
  • January 2013: President Erickson, in consultation with Drs. Bowen and Dooris, decided that the University would conduct a comprehensive review around the theme of Living the Land-Grant Mission in a Global Context
  • November 2012: Drs. Bowen and Dooris attend the Middle States Self-Study Institute held in Wilmington, DE, to orient institutions beginning the self-study process
  • Fall 2012: President Rodney Erickson appoints the Steering Committee Chair (Bowen) and Vice Chair (Dooris)
  • June 2012: Interim Provost Robert Pangborn meets with Blannie Bowen, Michael Dooris, and Jeanie Andrews to discuss the accreditation reaffirmation process and timetable
